It was an honor to share the meaning of Diwali on Fox this morning and share the stage with Children's Hope, a non-profit who has been around for over 30 years and is changing the lives of children every day.When I was growing up, dance was a big part of my life. We performed anywhere we could from malls to fairs to schools and colleges...but not on a morning TV show. No chance. It brought tears to my eyes to see these girls dance their hearts out for the Fox Diwali segment.Special thanks to @holichicbymegha for your gorgeous Rani sari. I really only had about 5 seconds to get ready this morning since I was getting the kids ready for school at the same time so pieces like this are a godsend and pure brilliance. In the segment (link coming soon), I talked about how Diwali is celebrated by over a billion people around the world who practice a multitude of religions. It's such a great example of everyone celebrating and practicing in the way that feels right to them. When I was a kid. To now. 🤩I could never have imagined running around blissfully in public on the streets in a lengha. I don’t do this often but when Printique reached out and shared their vision with me, I agreed to open up my home to them.I shared my story and traditions. We talked and reflected about the decades of triumph and loss.Printique created the most beautiful keepsakes and prints of moments in my life, both personal and professional. It’s remarkable to see your life’s moments this way. The early days, the struggles, the joy...all of it. Most of life happens in between and they have a way of creating that’s pure and full of depth. It was touching to flip through the pages and see the proof of the life and the work I have created.Thank you Printique for the lovely Photo Album, Photo Tiles, and prints to help me hold these memories close to my heart forever. Happy birthday to my dearest Mody. (it was Sat, Nov 4)We were lucky enough to have a spectacular Vegas weekend to celebrate. We saw U2 at the Sphere, Neil's favorite. I mention it as when Bono walked off the stage at the end of the encore, I watched him step back on and take another look. Most of the crowd was leaving and the stage was being broken down, but Bono wanted another minute.It looked like he was in a world of gratitude.It reminded me how important it is to relish the good things. It's hard a lot of the time and it's even harder when there is so much pain and tragedy around us but it's important to take the good when you can.The little things are the big things. And I relish our life together, Mody. ❤️To the guy who always has my back. To the guy who always keeps it real. To the guy who's integrity and love continues to keep me in awe. To the guy who pushes me to say no. To the guy who never has to be told to do his part as a husband and father. To the guy who's favorite characters are always the badass women who say what needs to be said.
